I do not know if it is the disease or meds and most likely a combination. Sleep is a problem with most PD patients, most not enough and some too much. My husband would sleep only 2-4 hours a night and NEVER able to nap. We found a great deal of help with a Mayo sleep doctor who has an interest in treating people with Parkinson's. This has been a wonderful help to us. He tried various meds many of which caused terrible side effects but kept working until finding one that helped Bill. If you have a movement disorder specialist perhaps he can refer you to someone who has experience with this most serious problem.
