Re: shoulder ache
John, well let me tell you about shoulder pain. I had it for years (prior to being diagnosed in May with PD). I had an MRI in 2000 which showed a bone spur but no tears. Diagnosis was tendinitis. I had one neurologist tell me PD causes arthritis. That was in May, 2002. Finally went to another ortho who ordered another MRI. My shoulder was much worse and had a subacromial decompression in Septmber. I still have stiffness but my exceruciating pain is gone and my range of motion is much better. I was hoping the tremor was due to my shoulder but alas, it wasn't. In total I saw 3 neuros. This past Tues saw a movement disorder specialist/neuro at Robert Wood Johnson. Dr. Jacob Sage. He is well respected in his field and is very knowledgeable in PD. Yes I have PD. I asked him about the arthritis thing. He said PD doesn't actually cause it but because a person limits the use of the joint, it can develop. My advice to you is to check it out with an ortho. I have wrist pain, mostly on my affected side. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.
