You label it "desperate", I call it living to extend life with as much
health and well being as possible. I do not feel one person has the
answer - only that in researching many other situations, over the past 18
years, this is one person that shows (with good results in EVERY case he
worked on, with admitted limited numbers (28) the most promise and
applicability of his research and developments (which he did with his own
funds). Judd has tried the medication route (almost to the point of death)
and is not a candidate for DBS - so we continue our lives with determination
(not desperation) to make it better if at all possible - we choose to work
to help this new therapy come to light rather than wallow in self-pity or
stand idle and wait while the mainstream researchers keep talking of more
and more years before delivery will be possible...

In this case, I do agree with Dr. Fink in questioning why

He only claims to have made accomplishments that show improvement in the
lives of desperately suffering people - he has no desire to be "rich and
famous" or he would have stayed in the U.S. and been safely working in the
mainstream "status quo"..

My mind flashes to *snake oil salesmen* and the belief so many

I doubt that they know about it - it is a pioneering medical procedure
involving MAJOR BRAIN SURGERY - I would like to let them know in person, if
you have their contact information - they too should have the opportunity to
decide for themselves - all investigations are welcomed...

On the other hand, my

That is why it is imperative that this procedure have support and be
followed through with, in the conditions of this country, just because it
does show the PROMISE of being able to result in regeneration of dopamine
production cells rather than only treating the symptoms (by meds or other
surgeries). It confounds me how judgemental people are being, without even
knowing the facts involved. But Dr. Garg himself knows "there is no end to
UNFOUNDED doubts". It's not the "clinic" we are looking for, it is the TRUTH
in results-which Dr. Garg welcomes serious and real help in
establishing...What "unsubstantiated claims" are you referring to?
