NEWS RELEASE: AMGEN ANNOUNCES WEBCAST OF R&D DAY WITH THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (February 23, 2004) - Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN), the world?s largest biotechnology company, today announced that it would broadcast over the Internet its first ever R&D Day meeting with the investment community on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. EST, from New York City. At this meeting, Amgen will provide comprehensive detail regarding its research and development programs. This broadcast will be available to media, investors and the general public. The meeting is expected to last approximately four hours. This event can be accessed by going to Amgen's Web site, and clicking on Investors, then on Amgen Events.
