Re: Appropriations Testimony and PAN Forum
Perry's testimony has been posted on the MGH BrainTalk Forum See PAN Forum 2004 and Appropriations testimony * * * Hi Perry, Ya done us mighty proud!! You squeezed into a few words the vital message we all want to convey to govt. (here in Canada too) and that message is Please ... Don't abandon us now! A metaphor offered during the PAN Forum went something like this... - - - A govt. official was asked to provide aid to the starving which he did for four weeks. At the end of the four weeks he received a report stating ... situation greatly improved, starvation now under control. Having solved (cured) starvation, the govt. official promptly cancelled all aid... - - - Similarly, NIH has funded research in the recent past and great strides have been obtained towards the better treatments and the ultimate goal ... a CURE for Parkinson's... We remind NIH and Govt. that this is no time to cut off funding in mid stride, just when the goal posts are coming in sight... Parkinson's research needs to be fully funded to achieve the commitment of the previous congress. Parkinson's research needs to be fully funded to achieve the Agenda ... (now the Parkinson's Matrix) Parkinson's Disease Research Agenda Parkinson's research needs to be fully funded to achieve the Parkinson's Matrix Thank you Perry for your strong voice on our behalf(s)... cheers .... murray - - - Gerry Haines wrote... Perry, what an eloquent job you did testifying, I am honored to be an old friend.
