Mustard gas and Alkeran are two different things. Alkeran (Nitrogen
mustard) is a compound derived from mustard gas, just like many everyday
compounds are derived from other, toxic, chemicals. Aspirin, for example, is
derived from coal tar.

Interestingly, Nitrogen mustard had a good track record when it came to
treating certain varieties of cancer (including the ovarian cancer which Ray
has survived), perhaps better than some of the more "modern" drugs.
