Re: symptoms of PD

Does Parkinson's take away one's ability to walk, sleep, think and eat.  I know I'm especially worried about taking a person's ability to think away.  How much does Parkinson's affect the mind?

Grace, Parkinson's disease affects everyone differently, so there's no point in worrying about your husband's future.   I just took care of a 75 year old PD patient who was a sharp as a tack, had no difficulty walking, sleeping or eating, and had come to the hospital with unrelated chest pain.  The Pope, Billy Graham, and Mohammed Ali (who doesn't have conventional PD) each have experienced different symptoms and progressions of disease.  Your husband will also chart his very own course - which might mean that you'll be dancing the Tango together when he's 90.
