I've often wondered about that too---but of course so many businesses use
MS software that may be the reason. It makes me purely delighted that I
"drive a Mac".....

I also got Norton, but didn't ask it to touch my Eudora--thanks for the

I suspect I'm not the only one here who can remember those days too.  Just
think, grocery delivery is now a rare luxury, and then it was just part of
the package.   In those depression days I don't think we even tipped the
delivery boy!  (Couldn't afford to....)  Did you ever climb on the ice
truck to get slivers while the iceman was inside the house? That was a
favorite neighborhood sport.

I'm a CG, not a PWP, so mine surely isn't a side effect of PD---unless I
caught it from Peter.  It would be interesting though to have answers to
your questions.
