Re: Paige Bremer's home page / and a small jant rant

Janet,

I just read Paige's website. If this is the person she showed the world
it
is impossible to see any cd in the person it revealed. I do agree that
cd is the most under diagnosed and untreated chronic illness that we
have.
It has a stigma attached to it as if it is something that could be
stopped by sheer will power if one but tried. So many uninformed
see the word depression as shameful and something to be hidden away
in the privacy of one's home. I heard that from my husband to "not tell
anyone because they would think I was crazy." What silence and denial
does is only further isolate the already sad and alone depressed person.
It is time to bring it out into the light of day to examine it for what
it is;
for the incredible pain it brings into the lives of those who suffer
from it.
To recognize that it is little different than to say I have any other
treatable
illness. It too has solutions for most of us. To suffer alone is more
than
Paige must been able to tolerate any longer. What warmth she left, and
how much more she would have been able to give if she had but sought
as much help for her cd as she did her pd.
