I have a good friend here who recently retired from the Naval Research
Lab as a physicist specialist in magnetism, and I used to tease him with
the famous quote from Dick Tracy who claimed that 'He who controlled
magnetism, controoled the world'.  He has been working with magnets of
all types and stength most of his adult life from grad school on.  He
claimed that his ailments were not helped one iota with all that wealth
of magnetism.
