Hey Janet,
I went through a deep depression when I first had Parkinson's (and didn't
even have a name for it yet). My first neurologist just said, "If you feel
like you're gonna hurt yourself, just go to the emergency room!"
Thank God I left his practice and found a very compassionate and excellent
doctor who understood and explained to me about chemical depression. I am now
on 150 mg of  Effexor and feeling great. Hang in there.
