Re: a little frustrated/please DO NOT call Augusta now
Dear PIEN, Having read Katie Wolfe's and Camilla's new posts, I now ask the CARE and PIEN Lists to discontinue calling Officer Stoodley's three front office staff, unless the new attorney says it's OK. I've taken Katie's suggestion, and I have just called the new attorney, and left word for her. I don't know how she'll respond. One veyr important additional note, the Augusta(Capitol) support group President had already called, before I had ever asked the List to call. She was told that her call was HELPFUL to them, because Augusta does not have enough info to understand my YOPD at my stage: advancing faster, 15th year, paralysis-dominated type. She told them that I am getting much worse than even a year ago, that I cannot be alone too long, and that it is CRITICAL that my care assessment is not cut. She told them a lot about me- she knows me-, and she told me that they were VERY GRATEFUL for the additional info about me. My losing independence and stamina is hard to accept, but true. I was maybe so encouraged by the above-mentioned feedback, that it made me feel that it was within reasonable limits to ask for some calls to be made. The attorney that had originally been assigned my case only met wih me once, back in November, and had quit working for the Disability Rights Center January 4 or xo, unbeknownst to me. He is gone to Louisiana, I was told. Katie , thank you for your time and effort. Camillla, thanks for yours. I still think the whole idea that I could be cut fro 13 to5 hours is DISGUSTING. How can anyone in his right mind possibly believe that my PD is going to magically get better?? I guess I return to the fact that the system HATES activists., and somehow, they want to penalize me.
