Help us Fund the Research and Find the Cure by Joining Us at the L.A. MARATHON SUNDAY, MARCH 4, 2001 What is Parkinson's Disease? Please contact us if you would like brochures or have any questions. We need your help and support. WHAT IS TEAM PARKINSON? Team Parkinson is a non-profit effort organized and staffed by volunteers from Southern California Parkinson's groups. The Parkinson Alliance has joined with the Parkinson Unity Walk to provide guidance and resources for TEAM PARKINSON. WHAT ARE TEAM PARKINSON'S GOALS? To raise money for research to find the cure for Parkinson's Disease. Every dollar donated goes directly to funding research. HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN TEAM PARKINSON? There's a place for everyone. Athletes can: - run / walk the 26.2 mile L.A. Marathon - bicycle the 20+ mile Acura L.A. Bike Tour - run / walk the 5k Volunteers can: - work a shift at the Quality of Life Expo - attend our carbo-load dinner - be a cheerleader on race day at our booster mile Everyone involved can raise funds for research. HOW DO I RAISE FUNDS FOR TEAM PARKINSON? Individual athletes can ask family, friends, business associates, etc to sponsor them. Volunteers and anyone involved can raise money for TEAM PARKINSON. No amount is too small or too large. GRAND PRIZE The individual or group who raises the most money will win 2 round trip tickets anywhere in the Unites States. To qualify for this prize all donations must be in by March 1. The winner will be announced at the carbo-load dinner on March 3, 2001. MATCHING FUNDS TEAM PARKINSON is proud to announce that due to the generosity and commitment of the Tuchman Foundation, 50% of net proceeds of up to $50,000 will be matched dollar for dollar and will go directly to research.
