Travels With Parkinson's
PARKYTHON 2001 Pledge Form
What Is PARKYTHON 2001?
PARKYTHON 2001 is a non-profit fundraising effort
organized and staffed by volunteers from
Travels With Parkinson's
a unique weekly talk-radio show dedicated to Parkinson's issues
and broadcast via the World Wide Web.
This specific event entails
Thirty hours of live broadcast time over a Three day weekend
incorporating visits with the Sixty-Five guests
from the first Forty broadcasts.
What Is PARKYTHON 2001'S Goal?
To raise money for research to find the cure for Parkinson's
disease.
How Can I Participate in PARKYTHON 2001?
You can call in to talk with the guests live on the show.
You can call in to pledge donations to the Parkinson's cause.
You can write in to pledge donations to the Parkinson's cause.
Where Does PARKYTHON 2001 Money Go?
It goes to fund the amazing Parkinson Alliance, the only
non-profit Parkinson foundation
whose board is comprised of People With Parkinson's or their
loved ones.
Their commitment:
"Through our numerous partnerships and matching fund affiliations
within the Parkinson's community,
we can guarantee
that for every dollar donated to The Parkinson Alliance, two
dollars will go directly to Parkinson's disease research."
"Martin and Margaret Tuchman, and his brother Herbert, started
the Princeton, NJ-based Tuchman Foundation to reach out to
corporations for donations. The Parkinson Alliance was formed to
raise money through private contributions and fundraising
events."
"The Tuchman Foundation currently matches every dollar raised,
and The Parkinson Alliance leverage contributions by challenging
the major national Parkinson's organizations to match the
donations and award pilot study program grants to qualified
research projects that will use the money for the initial studies
needed to qualify for NIH funding."
"Additionally, Martin Tuchman is the only person who sits on the
boards of all three national Parkinson's organizations with
scientific advisory boards. This has helped to eliminate the
competition that usually exists among non-profit organizations.
By pooling the donations, the Tuchmans have maximized the
effectiveness of contributions."
"To learn how donated dollars grow, visit our About Us page."
The Parkinson Alliance is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization.
