Re: INTRODUCTION
Miriam,
I certainly am glad that you, as a nursing student are interested in
Parkinson's. Bright medical students like you are our hope for future care
and cures.
I invite you to find a copy of "When Parkinson's Strikes Young" by L.
Herman and B. Blake-Krebs to be published by Hunter House Publishers in Aug
2001. You'll find lst person stories of pwp(people w/parkinson's) their
families, co-workers & friends. You can find info on the book at Amazon.com
and all author royalties go to parkinson's orgs or research.
I am one of about 70 contributors to the book. We tell how it "really" is
to live with parkinson's.
Good luck with your research topic, Miriam.

My name is Miriam, and I am a nursing student at Hunter College in the city
of New York. I am currently participating in McNair scholars Summer 2001
program. My research topic is on the "Integration of Sensory Cue therapy in
the Treatment of Parkinson's Diease", and I intend to write my dissertation
on this topic. The "internet research" instructor for the McNair program
introduced me to this website. I am interested in reading articles and
publications that are related to this subject matter. I am really glad for
signing up to this group, and look forward to feeding my intellect with as
much information as I can, that is related to parkinson's diease, especially
with regards to the treatment options. Thank you for your warm welcome.
Miriam.
