How true. For me, as a young onset, early stage PWP, there is certainly
self-interest involved in advocacy, but I am equally if not more concerned
for the future welfare of legions of people behind me, who include my two
sons as well as all the unborn. The value of stem cell research isn't just
that it may yield a cure for those in whom the disease has progressed far
enough to be diagnosable; it's also that it may lead to identification of
markers and risk factors, early detection, and better neuroprotective
measures.

No doubt about it - there are lots of folks who think like that reader. What
a wonderful letter you wrote to in response to his reaction!
