hilary blue, have you considered the " deep brain stimulator" w/ the leads put into the subthalamic neucleus (stn) part of the brain.i had it done a little over 3 yrs ago with great succcess. i'm no longer taking medication. i just have to go back to the dr. for an adjustment once in a while. a friend of mine ( jim grogan) also had the surgery and he is still taking a little med. but not near as much as he was and he's doing a lot better. i'm 54 and have had pk since i was 31. if you would like info contact me at
Jim, do you know anyone who had DBS of the STN who had undergone a Pallidotomy in years past. I had a bilateral Pallidotomy 6-1/2 years and now i take a lot of meds; I am fairly active. I walk about ten miles per day.
