Be careful. There is no evidence that levodopa is neurotoxic in humans. The manufacturers of the dopamine agonists have long been promoting this idea which has never ben confirmed. There is no evidence that pramipexole is neuroprotective in humans. Only preliminary studies in animals under conditions have even hinted at the antioxidant qualities of pramipexole. However, no trials of antioxidants of any type in humans have shown any clinically relevant neuroprotection. Do not fall for drug company hype.
