Re: Poor Appetite

Emily,
I don't know all the symptoms of PD, but I have no problem with appetite. I
stay very busy and physically active into my 5th year of treatment at 73. I
infer from your message that your mother lives alone. Single elderly often
don't eat well because it's not fun to cook and clean up for only yourself.
They have to establish a different meal and social pattern to provide an
incentive to get the proper nutrition.

As to the medication, take to medicine only a few minutes prior to the
meal. If you take it (sinemet or other stuff) on an empty stomach it causes a
slight nausea that might be enough to reduce the incentive to fix a decent meal.
