I had an unsuccessful pallidotmy in 1999.  This
surgery has a down side too.  I would never
discourage anyone whose neuro advised them
to have this procedure done.  Many people have
wonderful stories of success.  What I have
found in my case is that my neuro sayes that I am not eligible for any of the
experimental programs
since I had  the palidotomy.  He doesn't want
to try DBS on me for  "a couple  of years."
