Jane, you are exactly right! If you want to be sure the NH is giving good
care, you must be all over them, loudly and continuously!! Don't believe
the NH about anything unless you personally see it happening! If the NH
says the patient took the meds, don't believe it unless you personally see
the meds go down the patient's throat! Remember, running a NH is about
making money, not about giving care. If you keep that in mind, you won't be
shocked by anything that happens. You may be disappointed, but shouldn't
be surprised.
