The only way my mother has ever been able to tell left from right is
that her left knee has a scar on it from surgery when she was young.

And my wife is also one of those who gets lost going around the block.
One time she only had to go two blocks but ended up over five miles
away.

Reminds me of a old cartoon of a Scout Troop and the Scout Master says
to the Scouts, "According to my calculations, we are on that mountain
top over there."
