Steve:

Welcome to the list, there is a lot information to be found here.

I can relate to much of what you said I am a 39 yr. old and have been dealing
with PD
since the age of 25. Right now just take Permax and Sinemet 25/100. The last
year
the disease has seemed to have progressed, but I am still fighting it with
everything
I have got. I to have 2 children that keep me very busy, ages 11, 9 - there
are days
that are a real struggle but I really would not know what to do with out them.
Because
of having to grow up with there mother having this they have become very kind
and sensitive to
any one with a disability. I also have found that exercise helps me a great
deal with PD.
I can really tell when I haven't exercised for a day or 2 my muscles let me
know. My 11 year has
started going to the gym to work out with Mom she actually thinks it is cool.
Imagine that. The other 2 things that I
fell are very important when it comes to beating this is our sense of humor,
mine has helped me get through
some pretty tough times. And also the busier I am the better I seem to do. A
busy body creates a steady hand.

Well I hope I didn't ramble on and bore anyone, just wanted to put my 2 cents
worth in.

This is my first message so I'm a bit unsure of what to say. I am
a 48 year old man who has had PD since I was 32. I have done
relatively well over the years with the tremors mainly localized on my
right side, however the last 2 years I have noticed them beginning to
start on my left aswell.IhavealwaystakenjustSinemetalthough
I did take Eldyprel for a short time. I have just started Requip and
to be honest I am kind of exited about it. I havecut my Sinemet intake
by about a third and experience very little dyskenesia any more. My
handwriting is the best its been in years.(Not alll the time, but
more often ) Am currently taking 2.5 mg TID. I will probably hold the
dosage at that athough they say yu can go as high 8mg TID.
My biggest struggles gave always been depression amd fatigue.
For the depression I take Prozac. Its been great. For the fatigue I try
to exercise as much as I can but as I said , it is a struggle. I
have 2 kids and a full time job.
This has been interesting . And fun!

BUT IT IS!! In Africa about 80%- 90% of the young females are circumcised
when they reach puberty! With out anesthetic! It is one of the most
barbaric forms of butchery that is imaginable; a defilement of the body
that truly meets the definition of obscenity!!!
