Diane, I don't know much about it personally, but one of my doctors (Dr.
Iacono) has done a LOT of PD surgery.  He has a nice informative website
at www.pallidotomy.com  It might help you.  You might also run a search
for pallidotomy or brain surgery and see what you get.  I'm sure some of
the list members who have experienced the surgery will write you, also.
