Re: Driver's License
Barb - Deep inside, I Knew that parkinson's should be listed on your driver's license application. But there are so many physical and mental disabilities. where do you draw the line? I used to have tremors and later in my life, I developed stiffness and slowness. Alas, to the rescue MIRAPEX. It is a miracle drug for me. I rarely have any off times, and i am able to drive almost any time I want to, except at night when I am very tired. Note: I had this problem before pd. I do not feel handicapped as I am still playing 9 holes of golf (walking with an electric pull cart) twice a week. On Tues, I shot 54, w hich isn't bad for a young 63 yr old with l8 yrs. of this insidious disease. Each parky must decide himself when it is safe to drive. I agree with you - most parkies are safe drivers because most parkies are intelligent beings. If I were totally out of food, I would scream, then call a friend and borrow more than a cup of sugar or I would order something over the phone. However, there is always something in the fridge to eat. isn't there? I guess the answer to my question is right in front of me - YES, you declare pd if questioned. I have one question, what is organic brain syndrome which Marling listed in her email. Edie Luther EDIELUT@xxxxxxx 63/l8
