Observing the gender difference in seats for sedate biking, one might think the designs are just in opposition to anatomical correctness. But for more strenuous biking such as racing or trail riding, the rider standing on the pedals needs some sidewise support. I never raced, but I read somewhere that serious athletes smear lots of Vaseline on areas that rest on the seat, to avoid painful skin injury. Cheers, Joe -- J. R.
