A few years ago, prior to my pallidotomy, I used to have sieges of severe dyskinesia. I did not know when they wer comming. I never had a real problem ina car but I came to the conclusion that while under a severe diskinetic condition I doubted if I could be a safe driver so I went to the Motor Vehicles Division offlce and turned in my Drivers License. I went withoput a DR for about three years. After my pallidotomy I went back to Motor Vehicles and retook all the tests and was issued a new DR. I still don't drive when I'm off but with Sinemet CR and Mirapex that is not very often. I think that If you ask the question "am I a Safe Driver in my condition?" It's probably time to hang it up. My wife of 35 years, Sue does most of the driving and that does not bother me in the least. A couple of weks age she got her first traffic ticket I think that she is a pretty good driver Yours and His David L.Moreland 55/10 davelm@xxxxxxxxxxxx
