Re: WHAT! you decide whether to post this please
Starting from a misunderstanding on my part, the following dialog developed.
I like it. I thought Art and I should share >

>The main thing is very simple. No defending of "deadlier than thou",

>I suppose a similar argument can be made for every chronic disease, but I

But can the other diseases give the same financial return on the investment?
Most likely not.
>The very straightforward economics of the situation screams "DO THIS" ( fund
>the Mo. )
That is our argument. The rest is gravy. Find me any other situation
where you can invest $2 for three years and then get a stream of $100 per
year as a payout for years to come, and investors will stream to it.
>Do you need more research dollars for ALS ? Alzheimer's? Cancer?
>AIDS? Do you need more aircraft carriers or B-2 s? Do you want to give tax
cuts? >Then fund the damn Mo!
That's right. Fund the Mo, save the money, and use it to buy aircraft
carriers.
>One invests to make a profit. Failing to stop the 13.6 million daily dollars
>going into the PD status quo is ridiculous.
...from the Treasury alone, forgetting about the $54.4 million per day for
now in other economic benefits.
>The thing stands alone. It makes
>sense to get it done and quickly.
Fund it on its economic merits alone.
...and it will make life better for us PWP's to boot.

Bill - when I was in Representative Sam Johnson's office, there was a sign
on the wall, "It's Spending, Stupid." I would have liked to see a sign,
"It's a sound investment, stupid."
