For the MRI, you are enclosed in a pipe which is barely big enough (can't weigh over 300 pounds). You can see a little out the end via a small mirror, but each time the machine constructs one of the many "slice" images in the series, it's very noisy and you must hold your breath to be absolutely still for 10-15 seconds. A complete sequence for, say, the brain, takes a half hour or more. They ask beforehand if you're claustrophobic, and ir so, forget it. Cheers, Joe -- J. R.
