Dear Fred:

The best peice of advice to give you does not have to do with assistive
devices, although they may be necessary at some time in the future.
Particularly, since your father is in earlier stages of mobility problems,
it is advised that he be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist.
Bringing his abilities to their maximum potential and then maintaining them
is desirable.

He will need a prescription for an evaluation and treatment.  The therapist
may determine that he will do fine with an at hom program, or it may be
advised that he have a series of physical therapy sessions. I'd also
request, from the doctor, an occupational therapy and a speech therapy
evaluation.  Maintaining function is easier than trying to re-gain function.

My father is a 72 year old PWP.  He has beginning stages, is on
medication, has typical beginning stage movement problems.

I am looking for suggestions and sources for physical aids such as
something to help him up out of chairs etc.  Any suggestions will be
