Actually, BOTOX is quiee popular as a treatment here.. It makes sense -
it is a neurotoxin, so if used under strict control, it can be used to
relieve muscular spasm..   It is used to treat dystonia.  My son was
also treated with it - he has a condition called acholasia - where the
sphincter muscle beetween the oesophagus and the stomach goes into
spasm.  I have also heard of it being used for tarsal tunnel syndrome.
