News-Better pigs for transplants
I'm probably going contrary to common opinion (what's new), but somehow the thought of pig cells in my brain really turns me off. I respect the courage of those who are exploring this form of treatment for themselves and wish them the best truly, but I honestly don't think that that's the path for me. If I'm gonna have cells transplanted into my brain, particularly my brain vs other body parts, then I want them to be human ones. Personal bias. Maybe a few years down the line, this disease will convince me to change my opinion, however, at the present time, I want to keep my brain all human. I have enough off the wall thoughts as it is, without thinking from a pig's perspective! Wendy T.
