"Run for the Walk:" Call for Sponsors of the PDF Marathon Team

ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1, "RUN FOR THE WALK" (the Parkinson's Unity Walk, that
is!) AND HELP SUPPORT PARKINSON'S DISEASE RESEARCH!

There they go again ... following their triumph of last year, the pavement-
pounders of the Parkinson's Disease Foundation are at it again: asking for
your sponsorship at next Sunday's New York City Marathon!

This year's team includes Dr. Blair Ford (running his second marathon), Dr.
Paul Greene (his first), Dr. Leonidas Stefanis (also his first) and Robin
Elliott, PDF's executive director (his sixth). Friends, relatives and
Parkinson's community supporters can sponsor the PDF runners at $1, $2, $5 or
more per mile (multiply by 26; we'll throw in the last 0.2 mile free of
charge!). All contributions will go to swell the proceeds of the Parkinson's
Unity Walk, which distributes monies among the various national Parkinson's
organizations. (Total "Walk" proceeds for 1998, as of this writing, are in
excess of $150,000!)

If you wish to sponsor a runner, please indicate in a cover note the dollars-
per-mile you are pledging, multiply by 26 and make out a check for the total
amount, payable to the "Parkinson's Unity Walk." And if you have a preference
among the participating organizations (American Parkinson Disease Association;
National Parkinson Foundation; Parkinson's Action Network; Parkinson's Disease
Foundation; Parkinson's Institute), indicate this on your cover note; our
friends at the Walk will make sure that the money goes to the organization of
your choice.

Mail your check to "Run for the Walk," c/o Parkinson's Unity Walk, 30 West 90
Street (#8C), New York, New York 10024.

If you have any questions, call us 1-800-457-6676 or e-mail us at the above
address.

Thank you, one and all!

Robin Elliott, Executive Director, PDF
