DRUG COVERAGE
dear Maureen I am aware that I do have drug coverage through the Extended Health Care plan which my wife and I have through participation in the STO ( Superannuated Teachers of Ontario ) Group Benenits Program. Reimbursement for non-ODA drugs is 80% and subject to an annual limit per person of $1200. The cost of Mirapex for 90 tablets ( 1 MG ) was $229. Since I take one-half a tablet with each meal, the cost for one month's supply is about $115. I started on Mirapex on August 28th. For the first couple of weeks I took only a small dose. The first day I was on full dosage a month later I experienced some dizziness which lasted one day. It happened over a weekend and I therefore sought help from a pharmacist instead of my neuro. When I told her I took my prescrpition, including Sinimet, at the beginning of the meal, I was advised to avoid hitting an empty stomach by taking them at the end of the meal. I have had no problems since. Adding Mirapex to my prescription has been beneficial. I have more energy, sleep better, and most welcome, have experienced a reduction in my jaw tremor. Hope this helps. Cheers. Ken Clements < kclements.IBM.net > 65/2 Ottawa CANADA
