Once more with passion

Standing at this place in time, looking
searching back in my life for hope
I find that it evaded me then as now
then what hope is there in life

easy to be fooled, trusting, loving
trying against all odds to be that one
to find in my world a face looking at me
with love and once more with passion

hot tears on my cheeks, reality
it comes all to bittersweet to me
reminding me of my place, that lonely spot
alone i must travel, on this road of life

to hope when there is no hope
to desire when there is no desire
to trust when there is no trust
to love when there is no love

this place where I stand, my heart in my hand
worn on my sleeve, dashed to the rocks
i hold it as it takes it last final beats
with love and once more with passion
