Re: Dystonia and Dykinesia///REQUIP
Requip is one of the first agonists I took in my first year of PD. It
worked in conjunction w/segeline and sinemetcr and side effects of
afternoon drowsiness was only problem I had after initial titration to
effect dosage with the patient kit from the drug company. My mds(movemment
disorder specialist) added it to the sinemetcr when I'd asked, "IS THIS AS
GOOD AS IT GETS?" to the improved movement I was getting in my affected
left arm, left leg.
He gave reason for Requip in addition to levodopa/cardopa controlled
release as he hoped agonist would extend hours of levodopa effectiveness.
Added segeline to combat drowsiness and for possible nerve cell protection.
I may try Requip again if I need additional extension of levodopa I'm
presently using. It was the agonist for me that had fewest side effects.

I'm on Requip,,15mg. daily, and this is all.Having problems with
muscle jerks when I'm very tired.
Also since I've increased the dose I'm tired all the time, cat naps are my
new hobby, doc says I should get used to Requip and problems should let
up.
Does anybody have any input on Requip.
