Dear Friends: Thanks to all who responded with a variety of info and great ideas!! We are getting some quotes this week and hope to have everything in place in our "lower level" where Jack's hospital bed will be by our sliding glass doors by the patio enabling him to watch birds, butterflies, leaves turning colour, and even airplanes from our nearby airport. In the winter months we'll be in the same room as our natural gas fireplace that we enjoyed so much last winter. He has taken three bad falls in the past four days, and now has bruises on his bruises! Tonight we had to call the neighbours in to help lift him up, as we just couldn't do it ourselves (he's a big 6'3" guy, 230 lbs.) I keep telling him he's only getting lettuce leaves till the weight comes down :-) Thanks, again to everyone. It's great to know you're there when needed.
