I was experiencing painful muscle spasms in the back of my neck and severe headaches. The neurologist who administered the shots said the effective length is about 3 to 4 months. The first time he gave me a light dose and it lasted 2 months. I am about 2 months since the second treatment and my neck is doing fine. Best of luck to your dad. The Botox does work.
