Re: Reaction to Parlodel
In response to your request for info from others having reactions to Parlodel, I had the very same reaction--very faint, nauseous, and profuse cold sweat. This was in July after my first dose after an attempt at switching from Amantadine which had been giving only moderate benefit. The two waves of this occurred over about 40 minutes after having taken the dose three hours before. My doctor, a PD specialist, said that this was a low blood pressure reaction and that this severity was very rare. He took me off the bromocriptine and put me back on amantadine. If I were to try Parlodel again, I would start w/ smaller doses and would take with food. I had not eaten earlier on the day of the reaction. I do not recall what my dose was.
