Friends-- I read many posts that speak of "putting" someone in a nursing home--one time when this NH subject was being discussed on the CARE list ,someone objected to using that verb! It occurs to me that we might "reframe" the process, as "helping someonemove to a NH", which recognizes the fact that it IS a helpful thing to do, as John Morey just pointed out, and minimizes the sense of manipulating the PWP in a negative way. Language sometimes does influence the way we feel! This move, which may become necessary for Peter in future,is one we've discussed at length, and if he moves to a NH it won't be me "putting him there"!
