Dear Rose,
The cheese effect is generally a racing heartbeat, skyrocketing
blood pressure brought on by eating foods high in tyrosines. These foods are
generally aged cheeses [stilton particularly but far from exclusively],
summer sausage [really any aged meat, anything wurst is ammong the worst],
old wines [sauternes especially], smoked foods, anchovies, aged liquors.
These are the worst offenders. A MAO inhibitor such as many anti-psychotics
/ anti-depressants and Eldeprtl [particularly if above 10 mg/day] wil make
things worse.
Can't you add one more and leave the light on with a funny story?
And here's to long "ons" and short "offs"
