Re: side effects of drugs

Dear HC: My fovorite peeve regarding treating PD is that many family
doctors do not know (or want) to adjust dosages. The PD patient only
sees the Neurologist rarely, but the drugs need to be adjusted often. In
response to your particular side effect (drousiness, fatigue), you might
want to ask your doctor about increasing the Eldepryl to twice a day (AM
and NOON) which is the suggested dose. Eldepryl metabolizes into a mild
stimulant and may help the side effects. ....Remember everybody
responds differently to drugs (especially PD drugs) so there are no
rules of thumb that can be used- only average
responses.
