Re: side effects of drugs
Dear HC: My fovorite peeve regarding treating PD is that many family doctors do not know (or want) to adjust dosages. The PD patient only sees the Neurologist rarely, but the drugs need to be adjusted often. In response to your particular side effect (drousiness,fatigue), you might want to ask your doctor about increasing the Eldepryl to twice a day (AM and NOON) which is the suggested dose. Eldepryl metabolizes into a mild stimulant and may help the side effects. ....Remember everybody responds differently to drugs (especially PD drugs) so there are no rules of thumb that can be used- only average responses.
