One of life's lousiest experiences is doing something really well and
having no one see you do it, or, worse yet, see it happen but stand mute
and indifferent.
I must confess that I never expected a 95-3 vote, nor a 60-38 margin on the
fetal tissue issue. Nor that, given a lot more work and a little luck, we
can anticipate getting appropriations this FY!
True, many, many advocates deserve a lot of credit for getting things this
far along this fast. But so do some congressional staff people, and their
bosses. Kudos to Sen. Wellstone and Linda Degutis for their continuing and
very personal commitment to our cause. And very special home-state-pride
kudos to Sen. McCain and Sonya Sotak. We could not be prouder.
