Mary, and others: When shopping for a car for a PWP to ride in, try to find front doors that open as far forward as possible, this helps acessibility. Also, there is a device to lift a wheelchair into the trunk of a car, that is installed entirely inside the trunk, is compact and could be a good item for some. It has a cord that attaches to the chair, when folded, then you press a button on a cord to start the cord winding, which pulls the chair up, until you can easily swivel the support arm, and guide the chair into the trunk, then use the button to lower it into the trunk. There is a program that certain car manufacturers have to do up to $!000 worth of modifications to a new car, to accomodate anyone with disability. Check with the managers of your car dealership for details. Ken B
