Margret,

     I enjoyed your introduction and understand your hesitancy to
post to the group.  I am new also and am basically writing to get
information which I pass on to a friend who's father has Parkinson's
Disease (I call him Dad as well).

     However, what interested me most about your letter was your post
script about vegetarian diets and medication.  I am a doctoral candiate
in nutrition and am very supportive of vegetarian diets for a number
of reasons.  I also have just completed certification in gerontology.
(Not all people with PD fit the gerontology label, but there is a large
overlap.).  Please start the discussion on vegetarian diets and
Parkinson medication.  I am very eager to hear what you have found out
for academic and personal reasons.
