vegetarian diet

Ok , I am trying this again. The first time I got the letter back -let's see
if I do better ths time
Hi all, I have been very interested in your comments on a vegetarian diet.
I have been on a low fat vegetarian diet for about 3 months with excellant
results
I have cut down on my meds (modestly) and have much less rigidity and
bradykinesis.I think this aspect of Pd is not very well publicized and is one
of
the few things we can do for ourselves to give some control over this
disease. I
was diagnosed 7 years ago at 39. I am doing pretty well at this point and
live a
pretty active life although I have had to modify it somewhat. I am from
Boston,
now living in Dallas but lived for a few years up in Ottawa. My husband is
from
Ottawa, so I do have some ties with you Canadians. I have started a Young
Person's Support Group in Dallas which is both satisfying and frustrating. It
is
so difficult to motivate Parkinsonians sometimes I feel like I am pulling
teeth.
I have two teenaged boys 17 & 19 who think that PD is a figment of my
imagination
and an excuse to complain. Enough
