Frederic and others:

        My mother who is now 72 has had PD for about 12 years now. She is
pretty much confined to the bed ever since she had a fall and damaged her
hip. But at least 5 years before she was diagnosed as having PD, she was
diagnosed to have hypothyroidism - a condition wherein the thyroid gland
does not produce the normal required amounts of thyroxin.

        I wonder if any work has been done to study the possible relationship
between Thyroid malfunctioning and PD.

                I would be very much interested in hearing from others.
