ELECTRONIC MUSCLE STIMULATION AND FITNESS PROGRAMS
In response to an inquiry made by Joe Imperiale and John M. Kulick about
using electronic muscle stimulation for fitness, a doctoral student, Mark
Hirsch of Florida State University, sent a reply mentioning a two year study
with a physical therapy program that is achieving results that are "quite
remarkable".
Joe and I would like to know more. What have been the benefits? What are the
complications? Is EMS painful? What are the balance exercises? How do you
monitor success? How do the people feel the program is working? What is the
exercise program like? How hard would it be to extend a branch off shoot of
your study up into Connecticut?
