Virginia Herd: I would hasten to a neurologist whose specialty is PD. I heard there is a good one in or near Lubbock Texas. The APDA ambassador, Ava Crowder (who has PD) used to fly to California twice a year to see a specialist who told her there is an excellant doctor in her area and no need to fly to CA. Since Ava is our Ambassador you should call her for information - 1-802-794-9712. I met Ava years ago in Toronto at the Parkinson Foundation of Canada annual meeting. Good luck in your search for a doctor with PD expertise. Don't be embarrassed for "shopping around" for the best person for your father. Most of us get a second expert opinion at least.
