Re: Udall Bill & Senator Santorum
Although Congresspeople do use form letters to respond to constituents, that doesn't mean your mail is being ignored. Every contact, whether by phone or by mail, is usually tracked. The best way to really get their attention is by volume. It's very difficult to ignore hundreds of letters and hundreds of phone calls about an issue. So get your friends and relatives to write to them as well. Then take the "form" letter you receive, copy it and send it back with a note at the bottom to please respond as to whether or not they are willing to cosponsor the Udall bill. Several people have gotten great results by making numerous contacts consistently over a period of time. Also, develop a relationship with the staff person who handles health care, to get feedback as to the Congressperson's decision. Sheila Heath Parkinson's Action Network
